Pokud ovšem hodláte svůj text tisknout, je lepší zvolit písmo patkové (třeba osvědčený Times New Roman). Výhodou je především větší přehlednost při větší hustotě a objemu textu (například v novinách nebo knižních publikacích). Pro tisk velkého množství textu je pak optimální používat laserovou tiskárnu s kvalitními tonery. Výhodou jsou nižší náklady na každou vytisknutou stránku i to, že vám nehrozí šmouhy od čerstvého inkoustu. Nezapomeňte ale vždy používat tonery od výrobce vaší tiskárny, jinak byste mohli přijít o záruku.
Pravidla jsou ovšem od toho, aby se porušovala, proto je v některých případech experimentování se vzhledem písma žádoucí – především ve spojení s elegantní grafikou (například v navigaci webových stránek nebo při tvorbě loga).
